Key West State of Mind / keywest45Now we fast forward to Sloppy Joe's infamous move. I wrote about the bathroom fixtures being taken also... Ernest reportedly told Sloppy Joe that since he had pee'd in the urinal enough times, it should be his. Sloppy Joe agreed, and the two of them dragged the urinal through the streets of Key West in the middle of the night to Hemingway's house, where he planned to use it as a water basin for his many cats. His wife woke up the next morning, saw this atrocity in the middle of her nicely manicured lawn and demanded he remove it. Hemingway told her that he would remove his pool when she removed her pool. Both pools remained. |
