Modern Mosaics - Workshops

mosaics workshop at the Studios of Key West

Liz Nicklus and Carl Johnson are available individually, or as a team to conduct Pique Assiette Mosaics workshops.

Our workshops are personalized to your students skill levels. We teach beginners as well as those with experience.

Learn the basics of the direct method of pique assiette mosaics, or "shard art". A typical workshop consists of two full days. The student will learn about substrates, materials, cutting, nipping, adhesives, design and many other tricks of the trade from a professional mosaic artist.

First, they will observe a demonstration, then go on to work on an individual project of their choice. Students will supply their own tools and materials. Here is a printable supplies and materials list in PDF format.

At the end of the workshop, each student will leave with a finished piece of his or her own design and will have all the knowledge necessary to continue to create additional projects.

Please check out our mosaic workshop image galleries, The Studios of Key West, and the Pitman High School National Art Honor Society student community project. We also have some short video excerpts from one of our workshops in Key West, FL.

Please contact us for information or price quotes for a workshop near you.
